It's been a dream of mine since I started collecting Mini's, that I would drive and show them in the local parades and other events.. This Christmas, I vowed I'd do just that in the Christmas parade. I had so many decisions to make. Which horse? Trailer or not?, How many horses? will they behave with all the commtion and lights and sirens? So on and so on. With all this concern, why even bother? Good question, good answer, You see ever since I have been training and attaining these little cuties, I have been dying to show them off. The Mini's kind of have a stigma amoung the "serious or real horse owners". You know, is it a big Dog comments. Anyway, these little guys are extremely smart and talented and useful.
On with the story,.
We took Star, our chubby 28" mini draft, sorrel with white mane and tail. I chose her, not that she was my favorite or prettiest. But for more practical matters. She was and is by far the best driver and listener. My only concerns where : could she make the long trek and will she be alright with the sirens and commotions? That I couldn't answer, but she still remained the best bet.
Then to choose 2 the walk along side a scooter with my husband for show. Again the only concern was spooking. Well, the day has come and gone, And I couldn't be more pleased, Star was a absolute Star and she took her job seriously , obeying every command and making the trek without a drop of pace. My other two larger mini's Blue a Sorrell white mane and tail and Annabell, both are drivers and riders for kids. They did well themselves. Seemly knowing they where on show.
We won best animal hands down. A plaque and award.
Have you driven a Mini lately.
