The Passing of a Wonderful Horse RAGTIME

What was supposed to be a happy new life for Ragtime, the famous 29" miniature horse, and his loving owner Patty Fairchild, was anything but. Ragtime died several days after arriving in Colorado. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Rest In Peace Little Man.
Ragtime, the miniature horse that gained fame during a bitter legal battle with the city of Thousand Oaks, has died in Colorado, just days after moving from Simi Valley, its owner said Wednesday.
"I started screaming," said Patty Fairchild, sobbing uncontrollably. "He's meant so much to so many people."
Fairchild and her husband, Rich, moved Ragtime and his mate, Sassy, to Colorado on Dec. 28, in anticipation of their own move there this weekend.
Ragtime and Sassy were staying with a friend of the Fairchilds near Colorado Springs, Rich Fairchild said. The 19-year-old horse wasn't feeling well, possibly from the stress of the trip, and was treated by a veterinarian.
The horse was found dead Tuesday, and a report on the cause of death is pending.
"Patty is taking it very hard," Rich Fairchild said. "Rags was her boy from when he was one day old. He has been living with her ever since. They have been through some tough times together."
The Fairchilds moved to Simi Valley in the early 1990s. During that time, Ragtime appeared in an episode of TV's "Lassie" and a 1998 movie titled "The Adventures of Ragtime."
Ragtime was a day old when Fairchild received the colt as a gift from her husband, at their home in the Oakbrook Village section of Thousand Oaks.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Patty and her family during this difficult time. Ragtime will live in our hearts forever.
